Maliya weighbridges for salt works and Navlakhi coal.
Maliya (Miyana) is a taluka town of Morbi district on the edge of the Little Rann of Kutch and the creeks of the Gulf of Kutch. Salt works stretch across the flat, saline land, Navlakhi port in the taluka handles coal and other bulk cargo, and the national highway carries a steady stream of trucks between Kutch and Saurashtra. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा) across Maliya taluka, including Navlakhi.
A coal or bulk yard serving Navlakhi port usually needs an 80–100 MT, 18 m concrete (RCC) weighbridge (dharam kanta) for heavy tippers and trailers; a salt works 60–80 MT on 16 m in concrete (RCC), set on raised ground with a foundation built for saline soil; a highway transport yard 60–80 MT on 18 m. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a cleared order with PO.
Saline ground and flood water decide where the weighbridge stands.
- Above the flood lineRaised ground and drainage all round, so monsoon water never reaches the load cells.
- A foundation for saline groundDense, well-cured concrete with good cover to the steel, designed after a soil and water check.
- Sized for Navlakhi coal80–100 MT on 18 m for heavy tippers and multi-axle trailers from the port.
Who needs one in Maliya: Salt works and salt traders on the edge of the Little Rann and the Gulf of Kutch creeks; Navlakhi port and the coal and bulk-cargo yards that serve it; transporters and highway yards on the Kutch–Saurashtra route; and the farms of Maliya taluka.
Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Miyana, Navlakhi.

Salt works
Most trucks leave in the dry harvest months, and wet salt drips brine on the platform.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16 m concrete (RCC) weighbridge on raised ground, serviced before the salt season.
Coal and bulk yards
Heavy tippers from Navlakhi carry wet fines that change their empty weight.
Our setup: An 80–100 MT, 18 m concrete (RCC) weighbridge with a fresh tare on every trip.
Highway transport yards
Trucks between Kutch and Saurashtra are checked before a long trip.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 18 m pit-less weighbridge on raised pedestals.

Raise it, seal it, keep it verified: a weighbridge for salt country.
At Maliya the ground itself is the challenge. The land is flat, low and saline, the water table is high and salty, and parts of it flood in the monsoon, so a weighbridge must stand on raised ground above the local flood level, with drainage all round. Salt in the soil and groundwater attacks concrete and reinforcement, so the foundation needs dense, well-compacted and properly cured concrete, with the concrete mix and cover to the reinforcement as per IS 456 for the site's exposure condition, designed after a soil and water check. Above ground, wet salt and brine drip from salt trucks, and sea air carries salt all year: a concrete (RCC) platform, with a 25-year structural warranty on the RCC (T&C), resists that better than painted steel, and IP67/IP68 load cells with a sealed junction box keep the readings steady. Salt is harvested in the dry months, and most of a works' trucks leave in that season, so have the weighbridge serviced before the season begins, and check that its Legal Metrology verification stays valid through the season. Coal tippers from Navlakhi are heavy and carry wet fines that change their empty weight, so take a fresh tare on every trip. SMFW prints the vehicle number, party, gross, tare and net on each slip and keeps daily totals by party. Symphony gives stamping support for Legal Metrology verification.

Soil and water check to stamping support: a Maliya weighbridge before the harvest.
Six steps for your project in Maliya. Most of the waiting is the foundation curing, so the drawing comes first.
- 1 · Your traffic in MaliyaTell us the heaviest vehicle you weigh (here, typically tippers and multi-axle trailers), the space at the gate and the daily count. An engineer replies within one working day.
- 2 · Size and quotationOur usual starting point (coal or bulk yard serving Navlakhi port): 80–100 MT, 18 m weighbridge, Concrete (RCC). The quotation comes with the foundation drawing.
- 3 · Foundation on siteYour civil contractor builds the concrete pedestals to our drawing; we can check the levels before the weighbridge arrives.
- 4 · Fabrication and dispatchBuilt and tested in our Ahmedabad workshop; dispatch in about 2 weeks from a commercially cleared order with PO, then delivered and placed on your foundation.
- 5 · Installation and calibrationWeighbridge placed, load cells and indicator connected and calibrated, slip printing set up, and Legal Metrology verification supported.
- 6 · AMC and serviceAMC, breakdown visits, calibration and annual re-verification support from our technical desk, so the weighbridge stays accurate for years.
