Stamping and annual verification.
What weighbridge stamping (Legal Metrology verification) means in India, when re-verification is due, what you need on the day and how AMC keeps it valid.
Weighbridge stamping is the Legal Metrology department’s verification of a weighbridge with certified test weights before it is used for trade. In India it must be repeated every 12 months. The owner applies and pays the fee; the manufacturer calibrates beforehand and supports the test.
A weighbridge used to buy or sell goods by weight must be verified and stamped by the Legal Metrology department before use, and re-verified at regular intervals. Weighing for trade on an unstamped or expired weighbridge is an offence.
