A portable (mobile or movable) weighbridge can be moved to a new site. A full-size modular weighbridge weighs the whole truck at once with fixed-weighbridge accuracy, needs no foundation and installs within hours on a hard, level surface such as concrete, or on a steel frame. Portable axle pads weigh axle by axle and are less accurate.
A portable weighbridge (also called a mobile or movable weighbridge) can be taken up and installed again on another site. There are two quite different kinds.
