Akola weighbridges for dal mills, soybean plants and ginning units.
Akola is a trading and processing centre of western Vidarbha, set in a belt of deep black soil that grows cotton, soybean, tur and gram. The town is known for its dal mills, which split and polish tur and other pulses for markets across India, and for oil mills and soybean processing plants; ginning and pressing units around Akot and Telhara turn the district's cotton into bales and cottonseed. The Akola market yard is a major trading point for soybean, tur, gram and cotton. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta, tol kanta or vajan kata (धर्म कांटा / तौल कांटा / वजन काटा) across Akola, Washim and the neighbouring parts of Buldhana district.
A dal mill in Akola needs a 40–60 MT weighbridge (vajan kata or dharam kanta) on a 16 m pit-less deck; a soybean or oil plant 60 MT on 16–18 m concrete (RCC), and a ginning and pressing unit 40–60 MT on 16 m for bulky cotton trucks. Symphony builds the truck scale in Ahmedabad.
Pulses, oilseed and kapas in, three products out: a slip for each one.
- Every stage on one slip formatSMFW records commodity, vehicle number and party for raw material in, finished goods out and by-products sold.
- Foundation set for black soilOur drawing follows the soil check, with firm approach slabs on both sides so trucks roll on level.
- Cells that take the summerSealed IP67/IP68 load cells, and the indicator in a shaded cabin, for Vidarbha's heat.

Dal mills, oil plants and the Akot ginning belt.
Dal mills
Raw tur and gram come in from farmers and traders, dal goes out in bags, and husk and broken grain are sold as cattle feed by weight; each of these is a separate deal.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 16 m pit-less steel deck with SMFW slips that carry the commodity and the party name for every truck, in or out.
Oil mills and soybean plants
Soybean is bought by weight in a short season after harvest, and meal and oil leave the plant all year to buyers who check the weight at their end.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 16–18 m concrete (RCC) deck with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, calibrated before the soybean arrivals begin.
Ginning and pressing units
Kapas arrives loose and bulky, bales and cottonseed leave by weight, and the cottonseed goes on to the oil mills of the same region.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT pit-less deck of 16 m that takes the long, bulky cotton loads in one weighing.

Black soil and Vidarbha summers: firm approaches, shaded indicator.
Akola's deep black soil swells when it is wet and shrinks and cracks when it dries, so a weighbridge foundation here is set to our drawing after a soil check, and the approach slabs on both sides need the same care as the deck itself; a sinking approach makes a truck roll on at an angle. Vidarbha summers are very hot, so keep the indicator and the computer in a shaded, ventilated cabin and use sealed IP67/IP68 load cells. In a processing town the weighbridge sees every stage: raw pulses or soybean in from farmers and traders, finished dal, oil and meal out to buyers, and by-products such as husk and cake sold by weight, so the slip has to name the commodity and the party every time.
