Bhuj weighbridges for mines, cement and market yards.
Bhuj is the headquarters town of Kutch, Gujarat's largest district, and the market for western Kutch: bentonite and lignite are mined in the talukas to the west, cement plants work the limestone of Abdasa and Lakhpat, and the market yards trade castor, cumin, guar and Kutch dates (kharek). Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा) across Bhuj, Madhapar, Mandvi and Nakhatrana.
For a Bhuj bentonite or lignite haul, a 60–80 MT concrete (RCC) or pit-less steel weighbridge with a 16 m deck takes loaded tippers off rough mine tracks; market-yard traders of castor, cumin and dates need a stamped 40–60 MT, 12–16 m kanta. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad.
Every mine tonne is paid on the weight you print.
- Ready for Kutch heat and gritSealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a closed indicator cabin and a deck swept every shift keep mine-track grit off the weighing.
- Decks for mine trafficConcrete (RCC) decks take mud, stones and hard braking from loaded tippers, with a 25-year structural warranty on the RCC concrete (T&C apply).
- Slips that settle the accountSMFW prints gross, tare and net with vehicle number, party and material, and keeps every trip for the mine, transporter and buyer.
Who needs one in Bhuj: Bentonite mining and processing, lignite mining in western Kutch, limestone and cement in Abdasa and Lakhpat talukas, castor, cumin, guar and kharek date trade in the market yards, stone crushers and construction material, and small engineering and food units around Bhuj.
Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Madhapar, Mirzapar, Kukma, Nakhatrana, Mandvi.
Clay, clinker and Kutch dates.
Bentonite and lignite hauls
Tippers come off unmade mine tracks carrying clay or lignite, and the mine, the transporter and the buyer each settle on the slip.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16 m concrete (RCC) deck with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells and a closed indicator cabin.
Cement and clinker dispatch
Bulkers and clinker trucks leave in a steady stream, and overloading is checked at the gate before a truck reaches the highway.
Our setup: An 18 m, 80–100 MT steel-cum-RCC deck, with RFID, cameras and a boom barrier for an unmanned gate when the plant runs three shifts.
Castor, cumin and Kutch dates
Produce comes in seasonal waves: castor and cumin in late winter and spring, kharek dates in June and July, and every truck is sold by weight.
Our setup: A stamped 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less deck with SMFW slips for the seller and the buyer.

Dust, heat and zone V: three checks before the civil work.
Western Kutch is dry, hot and dusty for most of the year, and mine tracks put grit and stones on every tyre. A weighbridge here works best with a closed cabin for the indicator and printer, a deck that is swept every shift, and sealed IP67/IP68 load cells that dust cannot enter. Bentonite and lignite tippers are paid by the tonne, so the slip settles the account between mine, transporter and buyer; SMFW prints gross, tare and net with the vehicle number and keeps every record. Kutch lies in seismic zone V, so the foundation should be designed to IS 1893 for zone V and checked by your structural engineer before the civil work starts. Rain is rare but can come in heavy bursts that fill dry stream beds in hours, so set the weighbridge on high ground with a drain at the approach. Cement and clinker bulkers need an 18 m deck of 80–100 MT so every axle is on the platform.

From the mine track to a settled account.
Six steps for your project in Bhuj. Most of the waiting is the foundation curing, so the drawing comes first.
- 1 · Your traffic in BhujTell us the heaviest vehicle you weigh (here, typically tippers, trucks), the space at the gate and the daily count. An engineer replies within one working day.
- 2 · Size and quotationOur usual starting point (bentonite / lignite mine): 60–80 MT, 16 m deck, Concrete (RCC) or pit-less steel. The quotation comes with the foundation drawing.
- 3 · Foundation on siteYour civil contractor builds the concrete pedestals to our drawing; we can check the levels before the deck arrives.
- 4 · Fabrication and dispatchBuilt and tested in our Ahmedabad workshop; dispatch in about 2 weeks from a commercially cleared order with PO, then delivered and placed on your foundation.
- 5 · Installation and calibrationDeck placed, load cells and indicator connected and calibrated, slip printing set up, and Legal Metrology verification supported.
- 6 · AMC and serviceAMC, breakdown visits, calibration and annual re-verification support from our technical desk, so the weighbridge stays accurate for years.
