Mundra weighbridges for coal, containers and dates.
Mundra is a large commercial port on the Gulf of Kutch, and the town around it lives on what the port moves: imported coal for power plants and industry, containers for export and import, edible oil, and the kharek dates of the Mundra taluka orchards. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा) across Mundra, Baroi, Bhadreshwar and the port belt.
For a Mundra coal stockyard, a 60–80 MT weighbridge with a 16–18 m deck and sealed load cells weighs every truck that leaves the pile, with a deck gap cleaned each shift so coal fines cannot jam it; kharek date packers need only a stamped 30–40 MT, 9–12 m deck. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad.
At a coal yard gate, the slip is the bill.
- Sealed against coal finesIP67/IP68 load cells and a closed indicator cabin keep coal dust out of the electronics.
- A deck coal fines cannot jamA clear gap around a pit-less or concrete (RCC) deck, cleaned every shift, stops fines bridging the deck and dragging the zero.
- Sized for each tradeFrom 30–40 MT for date packers to 100 MT on 18 m for container trailers, built in Ahmedabad and dispatched about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.
Who needs one in Mundra: Mundra Port with coal, container, liquid and bulk cargo, Mundra SEZ units and warehouses, coal stockyards and traders, thermal power plants, edible oil refining and storage, container freight stations, the Bhadreshwar GIDC estate, and kharek date orchards and packing sheds.
Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Baroi, Bhadreshwar, Zarpara, Tunda, Bhujpur.
Coal piles, container yards and date orchards.
Imported coal stockyards
Coal is stacked in open yards and sold truck by truck to power plants and industry, so the gate slip is the bill, and coal fines get into everything.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16–18 m deck with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a closed indicator cabin and a cleaning routine for the gap around the deck.
Container freight stations
Boxes are stuffed and de-stuffed round the clock, and each trailer is weighed before it leaves for the terminal.
Our setup: An 18 m, 60–100 MT steel-cum-RCC deck with RFID, cameras and a boom barrier for unmanned weighing.
Kharek date orchards and packers
The harvest is short, in June and July; tempos and small trucks bring fruit to the packing sheds, and it is traded by weight.
Our setup: A 30–40 MT, 9–12 m pit-less deck, stamped for trade, at a lower cost than a port-size weighbridge.
- Mundra SEZport-based industry, warehousing and free-trade zone units
- Mundra Portcoal, container, liquid and bulk cargo
- Tunda–Vandh power beltfly ash, gypsum and material trucks at the thermal power plants
- Bhadreshwar GIDCgeneral (non-chemical) industrial units
Coal fines and sea air: seal the cells, protect the deck.
Imported coal is stacked in open stockyards around the port and sold truck by truck to power plants, ceramic units and other industry, so the slip at the yard gate is the invoice. Coal fines are abrasive and settle everywhere, so sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a closed indicator cabin and a clear gap around the deck that is cleaned every shift keep the readings right. Container freight stations stuff and de-stuff boxes round the clock and long trailers need the full 18 m deck; RFID tags, cameras and a boom barrier let the gate weigh without an operator on every shift, and SMFW keeps the photo and record of each trip. The coastal air is salty, so concrete (RCC) or steel-cum-RCC decks and well-painted steel parts pay back. Kharek date packing runs in a short June–July season with tempos and small trucks, where a 30–40 MT, 9–12 m deck is enough and costs less.
