Botad weighbridges for kapas, bales and cottonseed.
Botad is a cotton town: its marketing yard is among Gujarat's busiest for raw cotton (kapas), and the ginning and pressing factories around it turn the crop into bales for spinning mills and cottonseed for oil mills. Groundnut, wheat and chana come in too. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा) across Botad, Gadhada, Barwala and Ranpur.
For a Botad ginning and pressing factory, a stamped 60 MT weighbridge with an 18 m deck weighs high-piled kapas trucks in and bale trucks out in one pass; yard traders need 60 MT on 16 m, and cottonseed oil mills 40–60 MT for seed, cake and oil tankers. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad.
A kapas load is bought once: weigh all of it.
- Long enough for kapasAn 18 m deck keeps every axle of a high-piled kapas truck or trolley on the platform, so the whole load is weighed.
- One record from kapas to baleSMFW slips carry the farmer, the lot or the bale count with gross, tare and net, so purchases and dispatches reconcile.
- Slips the mill can checkA stamped Class III (OIML R76) weighbridge and an SMFW slip with the bale count make the gin's dispatch weight easy to compare with the mill's.
Who needs one in Botad: Kapas, groundnut, wheat and chana trading at the Botad marketing yard, cotton ginning and pressing factories, cottonseed crushing and oil mills, transporters moving bales to spinning mills, and small engineering and agro-processing units.
Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Gadhada, Barwala, Ranpur, Paliyad.
The yard, the gin and the oil mill.
Ginning and pressing factories
Kapas comes in high and bulky, bales and cottonseed go out, and all three are paid on weight.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 18 m pit-less deck with level approaches and SMFW slips that carry the bale count.
Yard traders and commission agents
At the peak, trolleys queue twice, once loaded and once empty, and the adatiya settles every lot on the stamped net weight.
Our setup: A stamped 60 MT, 16 m pit-less deck with quick, numbered slips.
Cottonseed oil mills
Seed arrives by truck, and cake and oil leave in trucks and tankers that buyers weigh again.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 12–16 m deck, pit-less steel or concrete (RCC), with separate purchase and dispatch records.

Tall loads and cotton lint: length and sealing first.
In Botad the cotton season sets the calendar. From autumn into spring, farmers bring kapas to the marketing yard and the ginning factories on tractor-trolleys and trucks piled far above the cab, and each load is bought on its stamped net weight. A kapas truck is long and tall rather than heavy, so the deck must be long enough for every axle, and the approaches straight and level so a trolley never rolls on at an angle with a wheel off the platform; an 18 m pit-less deck with level approaches suits most ginners. When the pressed bales reach a spinning mill, the mill often weighs the truck again at its own gate, so SMFW prints a numbered slip that carries the lot or bale count with the weight, and the two figures are easy to compare. Lint and dust settle on everything around a gin: sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a closed indicator cabin and a deck gap cleared every shift keep the weighing reliable. Order before the season, so the kanta is installed, stamped and checked before the first kapas arrives.

From the first kapas trolley to the bale dispatch.
Six steps for your project in Botad. Most of the waiting is the foundation curing, so the drawing comes first.
- 1 · Your traffic in BotadTell us the heaviest vehicle you weigh (here, typically kapas trucks, tractor-trolleys, bale trucks), the space at the gate and the daily count. An engineer replies within one working day.
- 2 · Size and quotationOur usual starting point (ginning and pressing factory): 60 MT, 18 m deck, Pit-less steel. The quotation comes with the foundation drawing.
- 3 · Foundation on siteYour civil contractor builds the concrete pedestals to our drawing; we can check the levels before the deck arrives.
- 4 · Fabrication and dispatchBuilt and tested in our Ahmedabad workshop; dispatch in about 2 weeks from a commercially cleared order with PO, then delivered and placed on your foundation.
- 5 · Installation and calibrationDeck placed, load cells and indicator connected and calibrated, slip printing set up, and Legal Metrology verification supported.
- 6 · AMC and serviceAMC, breakdown visits, calibration and annual re-verification support from our technical desk, so the weighbridge stays accurate for years.
