The Dholera Special Investment Region, on the Gulf of Khambhat in Ahmedabad district, is still being built: roads, utilities and the first large plants, including a large semiconductor fab project, are under construction. Today its weighbridges weigh what builds a new city: aggregate, sand, fill, cement and steel. Later they will weigh what its factories make.
For a contractor or RMC plant at Dholera SIR, a 60–80 MT weighbridge (truck scale) with a 12–18 m deck weighs tippers and bulk trailers, and a modular deck can move to the next package when the job ends. Permanent plants built later can choose a concrete (RCC) deck with unmanned gate weighing. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad.

Road and infrastructure contractors

Cement, aggregate and sand come in by weight while ready-mix leaves by the cubic metre, so every incoming load decides the mix cost.

Soft, salty ground: the foundation comes first.
Much of the Dholera ground is low-lying, clayey and saline, between the coast and the Bhal plains. That makes the foundation the first decision: get a soil check, design the foundation to it, set the foundation, load-cell pedestals and approach ramps above the plot's highest water level, avoid a pit, and give it a proper drain. Salt in the air and soil attacks painted steel, so for a permanent installation a concrete (RCC) or steel-cum-RCC deck lasts longer and carries a 25-year structural warranty on the RCC concrete (T&C apply). Construction packages end and move on, so contractors often prefer a modular deck that bolts together on a hard, level concrete surface and can be shifted. Aggregate, sand and fill are billed by the tonne, so every load needs a stamped slip.
