Latur weighbridges for dal mills, solvent plants and cane yards.
Latur, on the dry black-soil plateau of Marathwada, is the pulses town of Maharashtra. The Latur APMC is one of the state's largest markets for soybean and tur, and it feeds scores of dal mills and soybean solvent-extraction plants in the city and the MIDC estates; the district's sugar factories crush cane every winter; the MIDC estates at Latur, Additional Latur, Ausa, Ahmedpur and Nilanga hold oil, dal, engineering and agro-processing units; the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory has been set up at Latur; and the market yards at Udgir, Ausa, Nilanga, Ahmedpur and Chakur trade grain, pulses and oilseeds. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा / tol kanta) across Latur district.
A dal mill or soybean trader in Latur usually needs a 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge stamped for trade, long enough for a tractor with a loaded trolley; a solvent-extraction plant 60 MT on 16 m with the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) for the night shift; a sugar factory cane yard 60–80 MT on 16–18 m in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) with unmanned weighing; an MIDC engineering unit or a rail-coach vendor 60–100 MT on 18 m; a public weighbridge on the Latur–Nanded road 60–100 MT on 16–18 m (dharam kanta). Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.
Tur by the truck, oil by the tanker, cane at every hour: weights that settle every Latur season.
- Tur in, dal outOne mill gate, two SMFW reports, one stamped weight.
- Deep black soil on basaltPedestals to murum or rock, apron cast wide.
- Cane and solvent gates all nightUnmanned option, stored tanker tares, reports by shift.
Who needs one in Latur: Tur, soybean, chana, urad, jowar and wheat traders and commission agents at the Latur, Udgir, Ausa, Nilanga, Ahmedpur and Chakur APMCs; tur dal mills and pulse processors; soybean solvent-extraction plants, oil refineries and de-oiled cake traders; sugar factories, their distilleries and co-generation plants; cattle-feed and poultry-feed units; engineering, plastics and agro-processing units in the MIDC estates; the rail coach factory and its contractors and vendors; stone crushers, sand suppliers and ready-mix concrete plants on the Latur–Nanded and Latur–Solapur roads; warehouses and cold storages; transporters; public dharam kanta operators.
Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Udgir, Ausa, Nilanga, Ahmedpur, Chakur, Renapur, Deoni, Jalkot, Shirur Anantpal.
Dal mills, solvent plants, sugar factories and MIDC units across Latur district.
Tur dal mills
Raw tur comes in by the truck from January, polished dal goes out in 30 kg and 50 kg bags with chuni and husk as by-products, and the milling yield between the two is the mill's whole margin for the season.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, with SMFW reports that keep tur-in by party and lot and dal-out by buyer and grade, reconciled lot by lot.
Soybean solvent-extraction plants
Seed arrives by the truck from October, crude oil leaves by the tanker, de-oiled cake leaves in bulk on trailers for the feed trade and export, and the plant runs round the clock in season.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 16 m pit-less steel weighbridge with stored tares for the regular tankers, the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) and SMFW reports by party, material and shift.
Sugar factory cane yards
Cane comes in from November on trucks, tractor-trailers and harvester-fed trailers at every hour, the grower is paid on the yard weight, and a queue at the gate is cane losing sugar in the sun.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16–18 m pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) weighbridge with unmanned weighing (RFID, cameras, boom barrier), so the queue moves without a clerk and every slip carries the grower, the harvester gang and the vehicle.

Black cotton soil, a dry plateau and three-shift gates: sizing a Latur weighbridge.
A Latur weighbridge is built around pulses. Soybean comes to the Latur, Udgir and Ausa APMCs from October to December in tractor-trolleys and 10-wheel trucks, tur from January to March and chana from March, so a commission agent's platform is busy from Dussehra to the end of the rabi arrivals and quiet in the rains; a 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge takes a tractor and its loaded trolley in one weighing and SMFW prints the grower, lot and variety on every slip. A tur dal mill weighs raw tur in by the truck and sends polished dal out in 30 kg and 50 kg bags with chuni and husk as by-products, and the milling yield is the mill's whole margin, so tur-in and dal-out are kept as separate reports and reconciled lot by lot; book stamping or the annual re-verification in September so the certificate is in hand before the soybean arrivals. A solvent-extraction plant is a different gate: soybean in by the truck, crude oil out by the tanker and de-oiled cake out in bulk on trailers for the feed trade and export, round the clock in season, so the plant takes a 60 MT, 16 m weighbridge with stored tares for its regular tankers, the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) for the night shift and reports by party, material and shift. The sugar factories crush from November to March or April, with cane coming in on trucks, tractor-trailers and harvester-fed trailers at every hour, and the cane yard takes a 60–80 MT, 16–18 m pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) weighbridge with unmanned weighing so the queue moves without a clerk and every grower is paid on a stamped weight. The ground is the deep black cotton soil of the Deccan basalt: it swells in the monsoon and cracks hard in May, so the pedestals are taken down to murum or basalt, the apron is cast wide, and on the Manjara side the plinth sits above the level the river reaches in a wet September. The rail coach factory and the engineering units of the MIDC estates receive steel sections, bogies and components on 40-foot trailers, which calls for an 18 m platform at 60–100 MT, and a quarry or ready-mix plant on the Nanded or Solapur road loads tippers at the legal limit, which calls for 80–100 MT in RCC with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells. May in Latur passes 42 °C and the district is dry for most of the year, so the cabin gets shade and a fan, the cables leave the plate in closed conduit, and the test-weight calibration is done at first light, before the plate heats and the dust rises.
