Ratnagiri weighbridges for mango packers, Lote plants and port yards.
Ratnagiri, on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra between the Sahyadri and the Arabian Sea, lives by the Alphonso mango, the cashew, the sea and the chemical estate at Lote. Hapus is packed in Ratnagiri, Rajapur, Devrukh and Dapoli from March to June and trucked to the Vashi market and the airports; cashew factories work the nuts of Lanja, Rajapur and Sangameshwar; the fishing harbours at Mirkarwada, Jaigad and Harnai land fish and take in ice; MIDC Lote-Parshuram in Khed taluka holds chemical, dye-intermediate and pharmaceutical plants and MIDC Ratnagiri at Mirjole engineering and food units; and the port and bulk-cargo jetties around Jaigad move coal, ore and project cargo. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा) across Ratnagiri district.
A mango or cashew packer in Ratnagiri usually needs a 30–40 MT, 9–12 m pit-less steel weighbridge stamped for trade; a chemical or pharmaceutical plant at MIDC Lote 60 MT on 16–18 m with the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier); a port or bulk-cargo yard around Jaigad 80–100 MT on 18 m in concrete (RCC); a laterite quarry or crusher 60–80 MT on 12–16 m; a public weighbridge on the Mumbai–Goa highway 60–100 MT on 16–18 m (dharam kanta). On this coast every weighbridge gets sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a drained foundation and, where the salt air is strongest, a concrete (RCC) platform that does not rust. Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.
Hapus by the crate, acid by the tanker, coal by the tipper: weights that hold through a Konkan monsoon.
- Rain and salt airSealed IP67/IP68 cells, drained base, RCC that does not rust.
- Hapus in crates, fish in ice30–40 MT, 9–12 m, slips by lot and buyer.
- Tankers at Lote60 MT, 16–18 m, unmanned option.

Also called a dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा), truck scale or weigh bridge. We also serve Chiplun, Khed, Lote, Dapoli, Guhagar, Sangameshwar, Lanja, Rajapur, Jaigad, Mandangad.

Mango packers, pulp and canning units
Hapus is bought by the dozen in the orchard but sold to the pulp unit by the kilo, the season lasts twelve weeks, and the crates arrive wet from the morning pick in pick-ups and tempos.
Our setup: A 30–40 MT, 9–12 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells and SMFW slips by grower, lot and buyer; the pulp unit's gate adds a stored tare for each regular vehicle.
Chemical and pharmaceutical plants at Lote
Acids and solvents arrive by tanker, drums and bags on 40-foot trailers, effluent and by-products leave by weight, and the gate record is part of the compliance file.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 16–18 m pit-less steel weighbridge with a drained apron, the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) and SMFW reports by party, material and shift.
Bulk-cargo yards around Jaigad
Coal, ore and project cargo move on tippers and trailers at the legal limit, in salt air and three metres of rain, and the yard cannot stop for a corroded platform.
Our setup: An 80–100 MT, 18 m concrete (RCC) weighbridge that does not rust, with sealed IP67/IP68 load cells, a 25-year structural warranty and the unmanned option for the night shift.

Three metres of rain, salt air and laterite rock: building a weighbridge that lasts in Ratnagiri.
The Konkan tests a weighbridge harder than almost anywhere in Maharashtra: three metres of rain between June and September, salt air off the sea, and laterite rock a metre under the red soil. So the first decision in Ratnagiri is the type. A pit-type weighbridge fills like a tank in July unless it has a sump and pump-out, so the usual choice is pit-less steel on raised pedestals with a drained apron, and within sight of the sea, at the harbours and the Jaigad jetties, a concrete (RCC) platform that does not rust, with a 25-year structural warranty. The load cells are sealed IP67/IP68 and the junction box is sealed again on site, because the humidity never really drops. The laterite is good news: the pedestals bear directly on it on the plateaus, and on the slopes above Chiplun and Khed the red murum is compacted and the plinth raised above the run-off. The trades are small-vehicle trades for most of the year. Hapus comes in from the orchards in crates on pick-ups and tempos from March, is graded and packed, and leaves at night by truck for the Vashi market, the airports and the pulp and canning units that buy by weight, so a 30–40 MT, 9–12 m weighbridge at the packing shed, with SMFW slips by grower, lot and buyer, settles the season's accounts. Cashew factories weigh raw nuts in by the sack from the Lanja, Rajapur and Sangameshwar growers and kernels out by the tin, and the ice plants and cold stores at Mirkarwada, Jaigad and Harnai weigh ice in and fish out on insulated trucks. At MIDC Lote-Parshuram the vehicles are tankers of acids and solvents and 40-foot trailers of drums and bags, the plants run three shifts and the gate is audited, so a 60 MT, 16–18 m weighbridge with the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) and SMFW reports by party, material and shift is the usual fit. The bulk-cargo yards around Jaigad move coal, ore and project cargo on tippers and trailers at the legal limit, which calls for 80–100 MT in concrete (RCC) on 18 m. Laterite block quarries and the crushers feeding the NH-66 works load tippers wet and heavy, so 60–80 MT on 12–16 m, in RCC, stands up to them. Have stamping or the annual re-verification done in February, before the mango season, and ask for a calibration check with test weights after the monsoon, when the ground has settled.

Six steps for your project in Ratnagiri. Most of the waiting is the foundation curing, so the drawing comes first.
- 1 · Your traffic in RatnagiriTell us the heaviest vehicle you weigh (here, typically pick-ups, tempos, small trucks), the space at the gate and the daily count. An engineer replies within one working day.
- 2 · Size and quotationOur usual starting point (mango or cashew packer, pulp or canning unit): 30–40 MT, 9–12 m weighbridge, Pit-less steel, stamped. The quotation comes with the foundation drawing.
- 3 · Foundation on siteYour civil contractor builds it to our drawing; a pit-type weighbridge needs a drained pit with a sump. We can check the levels before the weighbridge arrives.
- 4 · Fabrication and dispatchBuilt and tested in our Ahmedabad workshop; dispatch in about 2 weeks from a commercially cleared order with PO, then delivered and placed on your foundation.
- 5 · Installation and calibrationWeighbridge placed, load cells and indicator connected and calibrated, SMFW stored tares set up (RFID, cameras and boom barrier where ordered), and Legal Metrology verification supported.
- 6 · AMC and serviceAMC, breakdown visits, calibration and annual re-verification support from our technical desk, so the weighbridge stays accurate for years.
