Tikamgarh weighbridges for grain mandis, dal mills and granite units.
Tikamgarh, in the Bundelkhand country of northern Madhya Pradesh between the Betwa, the Jamni and the Dhasan, is a district of grain mandis, dal and oil mills and granite. The Krishi Upaj Mandis at Tikamgarh, Jatara, Baldeogarh, Khargapur and Palera take wheat, gram, soybean, urad, til, groundnut and mustard from a farming belt watered by the old Chandela tanks and the Betwa and Dhasan canals; dal mills split the gram and the urad; expellers press the til, the groundnut and the sarson; granite cutting and polishing units work the Bundelkhand rock; stone crushers and grit suppliers feed the building trade on the Jhansi, Chhatarpur and Sagar roads; and trucks run to the Uttar Pradesh mandis on the Jhansi, Lalitpur and Mahoba roads every day of the season. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा / tol kanta) across Tikamgarh district.
A mandi trader or a dal mill in Tikamgarh is usually served by a 40–60 MT pit-less steel weighbridge on 12–16 m, stamped for trade, with room for the tractor and its heaped gram or wheat trolley in one reading; an oil expeller 40–60 MT on 12–16 m with SMFW records by lot; a granite cutting unit or a stone crusher 60–80 MT on 16–18 m in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) for block trailers and loaded tippers; a dairy or a flour mill 30–40 MT on 9–12 m; a public weighbridge on the Jhansi or Chhatarpur road 60–100 MT on 16–18 m (dharam kanta). Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.

Mandi traders, dal mills, expellers and crusher yards across Tikamgarh district.
Mandi commission agents
Kharif soybean, urad, til and groundnut come heaped on tractor-trolleys from October, wheat, gram and masoor from March, and the busiest weeks at the Tikamgarh and Jatara yards are the weeks when a short reading is argued the hardest.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, that takes the tractor and its trolley together, with SMFW slips carrying the grower, the lot and the vehicle and daily reports by buyer.
Dal mills and oil expellers
Gram and urad go in by the trolley and leave as dal, chuni and husk; til, groundnut and mustard go in by the lot and leave as oil in tins and small tankers and as khal by the truck, and the yield between the two weights is the mill's whole margin.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, with SMFW keeping grain-in and dal-out, or seed-in and oil-and-khal-out, as separate reports with stored tares for the regular vehicles.
Granite units and stone crushers
Granite blocks leave on trailers with the whole load on a few axles, crusher tippers come loaded to the rail with grit and dust, and the yard is swept with stone fines all year.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16–18 m weighbridge in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) built for the axle load, with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells, an RCC top that takes the grit without wearing, and SMFW reports by material and party.

Granite within a metre, black soil that swells, 45 °C and a short monsoon: building a weighbridge in Tikamgarh.
The Tikamgarh mandi year runs in two halves, and the weighbridge is sized for the fuller one. Kharif soybean, urad, til and groundnut reach the Tikamgarh, Jatara and Baldeogarh yards from October in tractor-trolleys heaped above the side boards; wheat, gram, masoor and mustard follow from March, when the tank and canal villages harvest together and the Khargapur, Palera and Lidhora yards queue to the gate; a commission agent's 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge takes the tractor and its trolley together, so the weight is read once and the grower, the lot and the vehicle go on the SMFW slip. A dal mill keeps the same arithmetic the other way: gram and urad in by the trolley and the 10-wheel truck, dal out by the bag and the truck, chuni and husk out to the cattle-feed trade, and the gate holds grain-in and dal-out as separate reports so the milling yield is checked lot by lot. Til and groundnut go to the expellers after Diwali and mustard after Holi, and the oil leaves in tins and by the small tanker, so the regular vehicles carry stored tares. Granite is the other trade: blocks leave the cutting and polishing units on trailers with the whole load on a few axles, and the stone crushers on the Jhansi and Chhatarpur roads load grit and dust for the building trade and the road works, so a 60–80 MT weighbridge on 16–18 m, in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC), is built for the axle load rather than the average truck, and the RCC top takes the swept grit without wearing. The ground across Tikamgarh is Bundelkhand granite and gneiss under a thin cover of red rakar and parua soil on the ridges and black mar and kabar soil in the low fields: on the ridges the pedestals sit on rock within a metre and the foundation is shallow and firm, while in the black-soil flats the clay swells in the rains and shrinks in the heat, so the pedestals go below the moving layer and the approaches are drained. The monsoon is short and heavy and the rest of the year is dry; a pit-type weighbridge in a black-soil yard needs a sump and a pump-out, so a pit-less platform on raised pedestals is the usual choice. May and June pass 45 °C, so the cabin is shaded, the cables leave the platform in closed conduit and the test-weight calibration is done early in the morning. Trucks run to the Jhansi, Lalitpur and Mahoba side every day of the season, so a public weighbridge on the Jhansi road sees Uttar Pradesh multi-axle trucks as often as local trolleys and is sized at 60–100 MT on 16–18 m. Book Legal Metrology stamping or the annual re-verification in February, so the certificate is in hand before the wheat and the gram arrive in March.
