Veraval's seafood trade runs on two weights: the raw catch a processor buys from boat owners and agents, and the frozen, packed product it ships. A stamped weighbridge at the receiving gate puts the weight of every intake truck on record, and the same deck can weigh the loaded reefer container before it leaves for the port, which supports the verified gross mass (VGM) declaration shippers must make. Ice, melt water and salt air work on every part of the kanta, so specify a concrete (RCC) deck laid to a fall with a drain, IP67/IP68 sealed load cells, and cabling and the junction box kept above the wash-down line. Container trailers are long, so if export loads cross the deck, size it at 18 m. In summer, Kesar mango from the Talala and Gir orchards moves in pick-ups and small trucks over a short season, and a 30–40 MT, 9–12 m deck at the packing or ripening shed records each grower's lot. The Kodinar and Sutrapada cement plants bring limestone in and send clinker and cement out round the clock; an 80–100 MT, 16–18 m steel-cum-RCC deck with RFID tags for regular bulkers records every trip without manual entry.
