Gadchiroli weighbridges for rice mills, iron-ore transporters and the forest depots.
Gadchiroli, the forest district at the eastern edge of Maharashtra where the Wainganga meets the Wardha to become the Pranhita, is paddy country with an ore belt opening in its hills. The paddy of the Wainganga valley goes to the rice mills of Desaiganj (Wadsa), Armori and Gadchiroli and to the procurement centres of the tribal cooperatives; the APMC yards and sub-yards at Gadchiroli, Armori, Desaiganj, Kurkheda, Chamorshi, Aheri and Sironcha trade paddy, cotton, soyabean, gram and tur; iron ore from the Etapalli hills leaves by the trailer and the tipper; bamboo from the Allapalli forests and tendu leaf from the whole district go out by the truck from the forest depots; and the sand ghats of the Wainganga and the Pranhita load tippers for the roads and the housing of Vidarbha. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा / tol kanta) across Gadchiroli district.
A rice mill at Desaiganj (Wadsa), Armori or Gadchiroli takes a stamped 60 MT pit-less steel platform of 16 m that holds a tractor and both its paddy trolleys, with SMFW reporting each lot's paddy against its rice, bran and husk; an APMC commission agent or a paddy procurement centre 40–60 MT on 12–16 m; an iron-ore transporter or a mine contractor in the Etapalli belt 100 MT on 18 m in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC), built for the axle load of a dense ore trailer, with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells and the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) for a yard that loads around the clock; a bamboo or tendu depot or a cotton ginner 60–80 MT on 16–18 m; a sand transporter or a crusher 80–100 MT on 18 m with an RCC top; an engineering or processing unit in the MIDC area 60 MT on 16 m; a public weighbridge on the Chandrapur or Nagpur road 60–100 MT on 16–18 m (dharam kanta). Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.

Ore transporters, rice mills, APMCs and depots across Gadchiroli district.
Iron-ore transporters and mine contractors
Iron ore is so dense that a trailer is at its axle limit before the body is heaped, despatch runs as a steady line of tippers and trailers, and the transporter's bill is the tonnage on the mine-gate and plant-gate slips.
Our setup: A 100 MT, 18 m weighbridge in pit-less steel or RCC, built for the axle load, with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells, a potted junction box, SMFW reports by vehicle, grade and consignee and the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) for a gate that works three shifts.
Rice mills, procurement centres and APMC traders
Paddy comes off the Wainganga valley from October by the tractor with two trolleys and by the truck from the procurement centres of the tribal cooperatives, and a Wadsa or Armori mill lives on its outturn, the rice it gets from each tonne of paddy.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 16 m pit-less steel weighbridge at the mill and 40–60 MT on 12–16 m at the procurement centre or the APMC, both stamped, with SMFW paddy-in and rice, bran and husk-out reports by lot, a slip by farmer and lot for the cooperative, and a surge-protected indicator with a UPS backup point.
Forest depots, bamboo suppliers and the sand ghats
Bamboo from the Allapalli forests and tendu leaf from the whole district are weighed by the truck in a short season at the depots and the traders' yards, and sand leaves the Wainganga and Pranhita ghats by the tipper, wet and heavy, in the months the ghats are open.
Our setup: A 60–80 MT, 16–18 m pit-less steel weighbridge with a weatherproof cabin for the depots, and 80–100 MT on 18 m with an RCC top for the sand transporter, with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells and SMFW reports by ghat, party and vehicle.

Wainganga clay, Etapalli gravel and a monsoon that floods the low roads: siting a weighbridge in Gadchiroli.
A Gadchiroli weighbridge has to look after itself. The district is large and forested, the supply can trip in a monsoon storm, and a yard at Aheri, Etapalli or Sironcha wants a platform that needs as little attention as possible between AMC visits. Symphony builds it with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells, a junction box potted again on site, cable in closed conduit and a surge-protected indicator with a UPS backup point, so the storms of July and the dust of April do not stop the weighing, and SMFW keeps the slips and reports on the cabin computer so a power cut does not lose the day's record. Paddy is the district's first crop. The kharif harvest comes off the Wainganga valley from October to December and reaches the rice mills of Desaiganj (Wadsa), Armori and Gadchiroli on tractors hauling two trolleys and on 10-wheel trucks sent from the procurement centres of the tribal cooperatives; the mill earns on the yield between paddy and rice, so its weighbridge is 60 MT on 16 m, stamped for trade, and SMFW posts each lot's paddy on one side and its rice, bran and husk on the other, against a stored tare for every tractor the mill runs, and a procurement centre or an APMC commission agent at Armori, Kurkheda, Chamorshi or Aheri takes 40–60 MT on 12–16 m with a slip by farmer and lot that the cooperative and the buyer both accept. The ore is the newer business. Iron ore from the Etapalli hills is heavy for its bulk, so a trailer meets its legal axle limit with room still in the body, and in a despatch season tippers and multi-axle trailers reach the weighbridge one behind another, and every trip is billed on the tonnage printed at the mine gate and checked at the plant gate, so the ore transporter's and the mine contractor's weighbridge is 100 MT on 18 m in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC), built for the axle load, with the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) so three shifts of trailers clear without a clerk in the cabin and SMFW reports by vehicle, grade and consignee. The bamboo and tendu depots of the forest divisions weigh the forest's produce by the truck in a short season, bamboo through the winter and tendu leaf in May and June, so a depot takes 60–80 MT on 16–18 m in pit-less steel with a weatherproof cabin, and the cotton ginners and soyabean traders of the Chamorshi and Mulchera side take the same platform for soyabean trucks in October and kapas trolleys from November. Sand leaves the Wainganga and Pranhita ghats by the tipper, wet and heavy, and dropped stone at a crusher wears a plain platform, so a sand transporter or a crusher takes 80–100 MT on 18 m with an RCC top that carries a 25-year structural warranty. The ground changes across the district. Along the Wainganga and in the west it is black clay that shrinks and cracks in May and swells in the rains, so the pedestals are founded on firm strata under the clay and the approaches drain to the side; in the east and south, on the Dhanora, Etapalli and Bhamragad side, red lateritic gravel lies over rock, so short pedestals seated on the rock are enough and digging a pit seldom pays. The monsoon brings a metre and a half of rain between June and September, the Wainganga, the Pranhita and the Indravati rise fast and the low roads go under, so a riverside yard is built up above the highest water mark, any pit-type weighbridge gets a sump with a pump-out, and nearly every Gadchiroli buyer settles on a raised pit-less platform instead. May passes 45 °C in the Vidarbha heat, so the cabin roof is insulated and test-weight calibration is finished before noon. Inside the sanctuaries and reserved forests nothing is weighed; Gadchiroli's platforms belong at the mills, the APMC yards, the depots, the mine gates and the ghats. September is the month to present the platform to Legal Metrology, new or for its yearly re-verification, with Symphony's stamping support, so that it is verified before the October paddy and the kapas reach the yard.
