Bhandara weighbridges for rice mills, ore transporters and APMC traders.
Bhandara, on the Wainganga in eastern Vidarbha where the Nagpur–Raipur highway crosses into the rice country, is a rice-milling district of Maharashtra. Paddy from the tank-fed fields of Bhandara, Tumsar, Mohadi, Sakoli, Lakhani, Lakhandur and Pauni goes to the rice mills, parboiling units and poha mills of Tumsar and Bhandara; the APMCs at Bhandara, Tumsar, Pauni, Lakhani and Lakhandur and the Sakoli market take paddy, tur, soybean, linseed and wheat; manganese ore moves by the truck from the mines around Tumsar; a steel and alloy plant works at Warthi; MIDC Bhandara and the brass-utensil workshops of Bhandara town add their own gates; and stone crushers and sand suppliers feed the highway works and the building trade. Symphony supplies weighbridges, truck scales and dharam kanta (धर्म कांटा / tol kanta) across Bhandara district.
A rice mill in Bhandara or Tumsar is best served by a 60 MT pit-less steel weighbridge on a 16 m platform, stamped for trade, with room for a tractor and the two paddy trolleys behind it; an APMC commission agent 40–60 MT on 12–16 m; a manganese ore transporter or the plant gate at Warthi 80–100 MT on 18 m in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) with the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier); a poha mill, a dairy or a brass workshop 30–40 MT on 9–12 m; a public weighbridge on the Nagpur–Raipur highway 60–100 MT on 16–18 m (dharam kanta). Symphony builds it in Ahmedabad and dispatches it about 2 weeks after a commercially cleared order with PO.
Two paddy trolleys behind one tractor, ore that fills every axle: a weight Bhandara's mills and mines can sign.
- Paddy by the double trolley from OctoberA 16 m platform, both trolleys on at once, outturn by lot.
- River flats that swell, Sakoli rock that does not, a wet monsoonPedestals below the clay, a plinth above the flood line.

Rice mills, ore transporters, plant gates and mandi traders across Bhandara district.
Rice mills and parboiling units
Paddy comes in as a double trolley behind one tractor and leaves as rice, bran and husk by the 10-wheel truck, with a soaking and drying step in between at a parboiling unit, so the mill lives on the outturn between the two weights.
Our setup: A 60 MT, 16 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, that holds the tractor and both trolleys, with SMFW keeping paddy-in and rice-out as separate reports, stored tares for the regular trucks and outturn by lot.
Manganese ore transporters
Ore from the mines around Tumsar is dense enough that a full body is a full axle load, the trucks run three shifts to the rail siding and the alloy plants, and the dust gets into every open fitting.
Our setup: An 80–100 MT, 18 m weighbridge in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC) built for the axle load, with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells, the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) and SMFW reports by vehicle, party and shift.
APMC commission agents
Paddy, tur and soybean arrive heaped on tractor-trolleys from October, linseed, wheat and gram from March, and the Bhandara, Tumsar and Lakhani yards are at their busiest in the weeks when one disputed slip can cost a whole day's buying.
Our setup: A 40–60 MT, 12–16 m pit-less steel weighbridge, stamped, long enough for the tractor and a heaped trolley in one reading, with SMFW slips that name the grower, the lot and the vehicle and give each buyer a daily report.

Wainganga clay, Sakoli rock, a metre of monsoon and 45 °C: building a weighbridge in Bhandara.
Paddy sets the size of a Bhandara weighbridge. The kharif crop comes off the tank-fed fields from October, often as two trolleys behind one tractor, and reaches the Tumsar, Bhandara, Sakoli and Lakhani mills and the procurement centres through November and December; a rabi crop on the canal and tank commands follows in April; so a rice mill takes a 60 MT, 16 m pit-less steel weighbridge that holds the tractor and both trolleys, reads the weight once, and keeps paddy-in and rice, bran and husk out as separate SMFW reports so the milling outturn is checked lot by lot. Parboiling and poha units keep the same arithmetic with a soaking and drying step in between, so their stored tares and lot reports matter more, not less. The ore trade is a different gate: manganese moves from the mines around Tumsar by loaded 10-wheel truck and multi-axle tipper, dense enough that a full body is a full axle load, so the transporter's weighbridge is 80–100 MT on 18 m, in pit-less steel or concrete (RCC), with IP67/IP68 sealed load cells against the ore dust and the unmanned option (RFID, cameras, boom barrier) so three shifts of trucks clear without a clerk. The plant gate at Warthi takes raw material in on 40-foot trailers and tippers and sends billets and bars out on the same, and an 18 m, 80–100 MT platform with the unmanned option ties every weight to a gate pass. The ground of the district runs from the black and sandy loam of the Wainganga and Bawanthadi flats to the hard rock and laterite of the Sakoli–Lakhandur country: in the river flats the pedestals go below the clay that swells in the rains and the plinth is raised above the flood line, while on the rock they sit shallow and firm. The monsoon brings more than a metre of rain between June and September and the tanks fill to the bund, so the approaches are drained, a pit-type weighbridge gets a sump and a pump-out, and a pit-less platform on raised pedestals is the usual choice in a paddy yard. May passes 45 °C and the hot wind blows from the west, so the cabin is shaded, the cables leave the platform in closed conduit and calibration is done early in the morning. Book Legal Metrology stamping or the annual re-verification in September, so the certificate is on the cabin wall before the first paddy trolley reaches Tumsar.

Tumsar mill gate to stamped paddy slip: a Bhandara weighbridge in six steps.
Six steps for your project in Bhandara. Most of the waiting is the foundation curing, so the drawing comes first.
- 1 · Your traffic in BhandaraTell us the heaviest vehicle you weigh (here, typically tractor-trolleys of paddy, tur and soybean), the space at the gate and the daily count. An engineer replies within one working day.
- 2 · Size and quotationOur usual starting point (APMC commission agent, Bhandara, Tumsar or Lakhani): 40–60 MT, 12–16 m weighbridge, Pit-less steel, stamped. The quotation comes with the foundation drawing.
- 3 · Foundation on siteYour civil contractor builds it to our drawing; a pit-type weighbridge needs a drained pit with a sump. We can check the levels before the weighbridge arrives.
- 4 · Fabrication and dispatchBuilt and tested in our Ahmedabad workshop; dispatch in about 2 weeks from a commercially cleared order with PO, then delivered and placed on your foundation.
- 5 · Installation and calibrationWeighbridge placed, load cells and indicator connected and calibrated, SMFW stored tares set up (RFID, cameras and boom barrier where ordered), and Legal Metrology verification supported.
- 6 · AMC and serviceAMC, breakdown visits, calibration and annual re-verification support from our technical desk, so the weighbridge stays accurate for years.
